The Undercity (2024)
When an otherworldly artifact falls into her paws, Rat Girl uncovers a vast conspiracy that threatens the fate of the entire rat metropolis. Merging puppetry, toy theatre, and an original score, The Undercity navigates unchecked greed, climate catastrophe, and the engineered hopelessness of industrial life—a gnarly web of rat tails only our hero can untangle.
I developed The Undercity through a year-long 2024 Emergence Artists Residency at Culture Lab LIC, which culminated in a workshop production at Culture Lab in December of 2025 directed by Sammy Zeisel and starring me, Camille Cooper, Nat Marvan.

The Spinner (Foreshadow, 2023)
In Greek mythology, The Fates spin a thread to represent each person’s longevity. The Spinner retailors this myth, imagining the Fates as ungodly factory wardens who’ve outsourced their cruel work to mortal garment workers. With an original score by Jared Engel, this short shadow play unstitches the lengths we go to to make our futures our own.
I developed, fabricated, and performed this show with my overhead projector shadow puppetry company, Foreshadow. The play features cardstock and plastic shadow puppets, cardboard shadow masks, and paper-maché masks.
We’ve performed various excerpts of the show at Dixon Place, Coney Island U.S.A., and The Owl Music Parlor, and we’ll be performing the entire 30-minute version at Brick Aux in August 2023.
The stork-shaped mask was conceived for the Fate who determines when we’re born and the scissors-shaped mask for the Fate who determines when we die.

Walking Parade Floats for the Coney Island Mermaid Parade (2022–2023)
My 2023 float of two gnome admirals marching into battle on an ancient sea snail steed took home 2nd Best Sea Creature at the 41st Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade, and that last clause will be etched into my tombstone. The float was built from a used walker, paper-maché, and insulation tubing.

My 2022 float of a kraken devouring a rowboat was made in collaboration with Foreshadow co-founder Rosalind Lilly. It proudly took home 4th Best Sea Creature at the 40th Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.

Eudora and the Blackest Crow (Foreshadow, 2021)
A mysterious mine shaft. A fresh grave. A sinister, long-lost relation. Set in a not-so-bygone era of Appalachian grit, "Eudora and the Blackest Crow" is an original short shadow puppetry play that emerges from the ether, performed with four hands and an overhead projector.
I developed, fabricated, and performed this play with my company, Foreshadow.
